My Night At The Rich List…

Tonight (1st March 2007) I went with a friend into the audience of The Rich List, hosted by Andrew O’Keefe with John Deeks as the audience warm-up. The show is filmed in Melbourne at the Central City Studio’s at the Dockland’s the same location as 1 vs 100.

Just like Family Feud it’s free to get into the audience and to do so you need to e-mail gameshowaudience@seven.com.au and they will contact you back. Also if you want to be on the show the e-mail is gameshowcontestant@seven.com.au these are the same addresses for Deal or no Deal.

When you get there you wait in a room where food and beverage is provided where you wait around until they are ready. Then security will escort you over to the sound stage where the show is filmed where you take your seat (expect a sore bum not good seats) and John Deeks will have a chat to you until Andrew comes out and also has a chat.

The one hour show takes about two or more hours to film, as alternative shots and senarios are recorded by Andrew. In comparison to going to Bert’s Family Feud this was a lot better Ifelt, because i did go to Family Feud for a second time and Pete Smith and Bert just regurgitate the same old ‘jokes’ and it just got boring after a while, where as Andrew doesn’t put on a show for the audience and just acts naturally as if what you see on TV is really what you get in person.

Anyway that will do, once again I don’t want to give it all away you will have to see for yourself…

  1. I auditioned for the rich list last night - did not get in unfortunately, basically a very hard general knowledge test 45 questions long, pass mark seemed to be 28/45. As a scotsman who has lived in OZ for 6 years some of the questions on OZ sport and politics in the eighties were beyond me. Never mind, no questions about previous managers of Hibs. Damn! You need to be a hardcore trivia fan to pass this one.
