The Grand Final Footy Show…
This week it was time for both the AFL and NRL Grand Final Footy Shows, with the AFL show being presented from Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, and the NRL show from Sydney’s Entertainment Centre.

The AFL Footy Show started off in its usual fashion with an opening routeen, and it started off with “The 73rd Annual Footy Show Awards” which would decide what this years opening sequence would be. The presenters were Andrew Demetreou (CEO of the AFL) and a player dressed as a woman (Shane Crawford).

The first nominee was titled “Some Sort of Move Parody Thing”.

The next nominee was titled “Some Sort of Kids Group Parody Thing”.

The next nominee was “A Complete Rip-off of Last Year’s Old TV Shows Idea”.

And finally the last nominee was “A Cheesy Dance Number Andrew Said No to Being In”.

And the winner was… “The Thunderbirds”.

The NRL Footy Show didn’t quite start off in the same manner as its counterpart, the NRL version started off with a montage of Melbourne Storm and Manly Sea Eagles footage from the year and then Jimmy Barnes gave a performance of Working Class Man.

The AFL Footy Show started off with a performance by Kelly Clarkson, with performances at the end by The Little River Band, Shannon Noll and Noiseworks. The usual segments were present with the Brownlow Medal edition of Street Talk, with Shane Crawford and the Best of Street Talk with Sam throughout the year, and the final of Almost Football Legends with Trevor.

I managed to watch most of the NRL Footy Show at its very late hour timeslot in Melbourne, and I have to say that it wasn’t anything exciting compared to its AFL counterpart, and I’m not just saying that because I follow AFL and lets just say can’t stand League. The NRL show was more of a talk feast and only really had Jimmy Barnes as the main entertainment, with the AFL version having all the guests mentioned above.
Finally, one of the highlights of the AFL Grand Final Footy Show is the annual player review…
