7HD Launches!…
Monday 15th October 2007 and with very little fanfare you would be forgiven if you missed the start of 7HD. It still remains a mystery why there was no official launch so watch this space if something comes up, but at 10:30pm instead of showing Boston Legal like the main channel 7HD showed the movie ‘The 25th Hour’.
Tonight will now be a long night for me to see what happens with this new channel, and so far there have been no commercials to speak of, however there was a break promoting the movie Hide and Seek to be shown on Seven Friday at 8:30, followed by a sneak peek of next weeks episode of Prison Break, and then a message from Anna Corren introducing 7HD.
The second break and it was a promo of Heroes followed by another sneak peek but this time it was of Bionic Woman. The another short message and this time it was from David Kosh.
The third break showed a promo of Dancing With The Stars featuring Delta Goodrem as a special guest, followed by another sneak peek this time of Heroes. This was then followed by Sonia Kruger and her message about the 7HD channel.
Now into the fourth break and no more sneak peeks I guess you can only show so many, however a promo for National Bingo Night was shown as well as another message, this time from Mathew White.
After the movie finished it was back to normal Seven programming with 7HD resuming with the second episode of Lost shown on regular Seven.

I would love to view the new 7HD after seeing the promos on Channel 7.
But I cannot.
Please advise how I can go about this?
I have a Samsung Lcd with built in HD tuner, but can’t find 7HD.

My advice would be to re-scan your channel’s, then look for Channel 70, that is where 7HD should be. Of course you will see no difference until they are showing alternative programming from that on the main channel… Hope that helps…

I have a high definition box, can I find 7HD with this? When I key in channel 70 all I get is vertical lines.

Could be a number of things, try and re-scan the channels, if that fails try adjusting the ariel and still if nothing you might have to take it back or you might of actually bought a standard definition box…

I’m not familiar with your area at all however what I do know is that 7HD is on in metro area’s wither the Channel Seven, and in regional areas Prime has taken the 7HD feed

I am also North of Mackay and was wondering

Well just off the top of my head, I’m oviously not familar with the area, but Mackay is in North Queensland? and if that is so then you will receive Seven North Qld, which to my knowledge does not have 7HD at this time. However I will try and find out and report back.

Ok those of you in Mackay, 7HD is avaliable in your area. The only reason I can think of why you can’t get it is because you may have bought a Standard Definition Set-Top Box which will NOT play 7HD. A SD box will show you that the HD channel is present but will not show you the content. If you are wanting to view these channels you need to make sure you buy HD (High Definition) Set-Top Boxes or Intergrated Tv’s. Any further questions please don’t hesitate to ask them here…

Thanks for getting back to me, I checked the set box and yes you were right it was a standard one, but it did not have it written on the box,so i called a customer help number and they told me bye the number on it that it was a standard set box, so i packed it up and too it back to the store.
Got a HD one and now we have it working. Thanks for your help.

Hey,
I just ordered a LCD tv with an inbuilt HD tuner. Though I didn’t pay much attention to the HD tuner until now, does this mean that if the TV has an inbuilt HD tuner, we don’t have to buy a HD Set Top Box?
If no, then what does the inbuilt hd tuner actually do?
