The Chaser Decides…

With the end of the second season of The Chaser’s War On Everything and the tale end of the 2007 election campaign, it was time for the first of two episodes of The Chaser Decides. Craig, Chris, Andrew and Julian were presenting from the National Tally Room in Canberra with Chas filling the role of reporter.

Julian was on hand to bring in the current trends and show what seats had fallen to which party and to show the make-up of parliament. Of course with no polling booths open at all, the parliament looked pretty bare…

Here also are the effects of Kevin Rudd’s ego growing any bigger…

Chas was on hand to offer Kevin Rudd a late night snack of ear wax…

The boy’s then thought that Kevin Rudd’s popularity was due to the fact he was a regular on Seven’s Sunrise, and thought that Malcolm Turnbull and Peter Garrett could both use a popularity boost.

Andrew was on had when Kevin Rudd made his appearance on Rove. directing him what to do and say, including when to laugh and pause and when to point, and not to say John Howard to the question who would you turn gay for?…

Here is The Chaser’s variation of the Labor election advertisement…

The Chaser team also took at stab at the ‘me tooisim’ of the Labor party but portraying it a mock of the Apple iMac commercials, with Andrew in the suit as Liberal, and Chris in casual as Labor. As you can see he wants to copy everything so he ends up in the suit also.

One of the sketches from the Chaser’s War series was used in this next sketch where they would hold a thinking cloud above the politician to reveal what they are really thinking…

Of course it wouldn’t be an episode of The Chaser if it didn’t take the mickey out of Channel Seven, and they didn’t disappoint this week with a take off of the networks election night promo. They turned the night into an event with no presenter having journalistic skills with the inclusion of Anna Corren…

There were also short spot where in this first example a girl was saying why the country should not vote for John Howard, she said because “isn’t he like going to hand over to Kim Beazley”, then the stamp “This Person Votes”…

Keep watching for next weeks final episode, same usual time…
