Power of Ten…

Tonight a new game show hit Australian television screens on Australia’s official game show channel the Nine Network, with the premier of the Steve Jacobs hosted Power of Ten.

The game follows the same format as the American version which is hosted by Drew Carey and broadcast on the CBS network.

The game starts off with two contestants in what is called the elimination round, where the contestants will guess the percentage of Australian who answered a question in a certain way. For example, “How many Australians admitted that they have locked there key’s in the car?”.

Each contestant will then enter what they believe is the correct percentage, and this will continue until one of the contestants wins three games.

Once it had been determined who will go onto the final stage to try and win some money, the contestant will then try to answer five questions in order to try and win $1 million. The questions are answered in the same fashion as the previous round but with the addition of audience help and a 30 percent range allowance to answer within.

As stated above there are five questions to answer and each question gains an additional amount of money.
Question 1 - $100
Question 2 - $1,000
Question 3 - $10,000
Question 4 - $100,000
Question 5 - $1,000,000

I will go out on a limb here and say that this show will work, however there is an original order of eight episodes and it might be beneficial for the show if it was cut down to a 30 minute episode to try and keep it fresh each week. This will be easy enough to edit as there are two and a half games played in each episode. Steve Jacobs has proven that he is ready for his own hosting role doing an exceptional job and able to interact with contestants nicely.

Power of Ten can be seen on the Nine Network 7:30pm Monday nights.
