Canal Road…

Tonight was the premier of a brand new drama from the Nine Network, Canal Road where Victorian’s got an earlier screening because Unberbelly isn’t being shown.

The show stars the likes of, Paul Leyden, Diana Glenn, Brooke Satchwell, Grant Bowler, Sibylla Budd, Charlie Clausen, Patrick Brammall, Peta Sergeant, Alyssa McClelland, Sam Anderson and Kate Jenkinson.

Canal Road is a fictional medical and legal centre based in the heart of Melbourne with the story revolving around the main character Spencer McKay, who’s wife and child are tragically killed.

If you are sick of seeing Melbourne on the telly then I warn you it is an extremely Melbourne centric show, filmed in the Flinders Street Station Banana Ally precinct along the Yarra River near the old Sandridge Railbridge.

For me I felt the show was a little slow for my liking, it is the first episode so I will take another look next week, but having said that this show is certain to perform well for Nine who as we all know have found success with their other Melbourne made drama Underbelly.
