30 Rock Returns For A Second Season…

feature photo

For one of the funniest shows on television the time slot for 30 Rock is horrible at 11:30pm, but the show can only seem to find a small nesh audience just like classic shows The Office and Curb Your Enthusiasm. This is exactly the same situation in the US, the show attracts relatively low ratings but has won numerous awards and stunning reviews, and has been renewed for a third season.

If you haven’t seen the show it is all about what goes on behind the scenes at American television network NBC with the writers and performers on a sketch comedy show TGS with Tracy Jordan.

This season gets started with the story of Liz breaking up with her boy friend Floyd during the summer, with a long distance relationship not working out. With Jerry Seinfeld at NBC trying to see Jack, Liz gets some advice from Jerry on how to deal with the issue of her not getting over Floyd.

Over the summer break Jenna performed every night in Broadway show titled Mystic Pizza where by she had to eat four slices of pizza every night, in turn this has made her obese and she needs to as Jack puts it, loose 30 pounds or gain 60, anything in-between is not good for television.

Jack’s big idea for the network is to have October devoted to inserting Jerry Seinfeld into every show calling it “Seinfeld Vision”. Jerry returns from a holiday in Europe a country where only rich people go because he has heard that he will be making appearance in all these shows but hasn’t actually done any recording.

One of those shows is what is called “Milf Island”… When telling Liz about the show the conversation went a little like this.
“25 super hot mums, 50 8th grade boys, no rules”
Liz replies with, “Oh yeah didn’t one of those mums turn out to be a prostitute?”
Jack responds by saying, “That doesn’t mean she’s not a wonderful caring milf.”

Tracy has been kicked out of home by his wife, he is then forced to move into an office at the station, and this is when Kenneth is installed as Tracy’s office wife. At the same time Kenneth is a little star struck every time he runs into Jerry Seinfeld, even singing the tune to the show while in the lift with him.

With her rebound crisis of breaking up with her boy friend, Liz buys a wedding dress even though she is single she says to the wedding dress store attendant that she is doing everything in reverse.

30 Rock can be seen on the Seven Network at 11:30pm Monday night’s.
