iPhone Coming To Australia…
Today it was revealed that Apple will be releasing its next generation iPhone and as a bonus to Australian’s wishing to get their hands on the device, a release date has been set as July 11th. The phone will be available through Optus and Vodafone in Australia and will have 3G capabilities, and according to reports will not cost an arm and a leg with the device costing only $199 in the US, however there is still no word on a price tag for Australia.
Personally I’m a little disappointed because it sounds like a really good phone, but I have recently updated my phone to the LG Viewity which is simular to the iPhone. Oh well I guess ill have to be happy with what I have.
Below are two reports from today’s news. The first is a short report from Seven’s 4:30 news, the second is from the 6pm National Nine News edition. Additionally Optus has set up a web site where you can pay a $50 deposit so you can get the phone first at http://www.yesiphone.com.au/home.aspx.

Ah, remember when they actually used to have news on ‘the news’?
