The News On That Ceremony Leak…

feature photo

By now every man and his dog would know that today footage was taken of a rehearsal showcasing the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games by a South Korean television network called SBS. So in case you haven’t seen it I have taken this opportunity to upload three videos from three of our network’s news services today.

The first is from Seven’s 4:30 news which was interesting to watch considering that the network holds the broadcast rights to the games. The next one is from Ten News Melbourne where the story also contained a report about the censorship issue the media is facing in china at the moment. Finally a look at ABC News Victoria which took a simular line to that of Ten and you may also notice some special Olympic graphics.

  1. The smart move might have been for China’s Olympic organizers (and the games’ fans) to acknowledge this as a testament to the intense excitement and anticipation of these games, get the video taken down,** and move on.

Instead, this kind of retributive anger is another example of the Olympic organizers seemingly selfish desire to have a picture-perfect Olympic “product,” regardless of the unfairness or backwardsness of the process used to produce the games and their worldwide broadcast.
