What Do You Get When You Cross The Olympics With Celebrity Fluff?

Answer: Today Tonight… Last night when the news services reported on the Olympic party attended by all the swimmers the initial thought was that this has Today Tonight story written all over it and the programme didn’t disappoint. If ever there was any evidence to why these shows are horrible to watch (yet we still do because they are a gold mine for material) this was it, making a story out of a party where unfortunately for Today Tonight nothing controversial happened.

In what has been called ‘the bash of Beijing’ the most amount of information we got out of anyway was that it has been a while since they have had a drink because of their training.

Then we got to see these athletes in the spotlight leave early, and turn up to a press conference the next day with a slight hangover. Compelling stuff! But then again, if people watch it, then they continue to make it. But the fun didn’t even there, with the next story about what Michael Phelps eats, which had been reported on last week several times, so old news can be new again I guess.

While on the topic of current affairs, get ready Australia, he is back Mr No Bingo himself with another story on a new profession, the National Bingo Night star will be in yet another story tonight for A Current Affair. This would be story number six?
