Pad Me Up & Get Out That Astroturf, Let’s Play Some American Football…
Over in the United States today it was the start of their football season with the Washington Redskins taking on the New York Giants in New York, but the significant thing for us Aussies is that we can now catch all the action on Ten HD (sorry regional readers for the tease).
Ten HD takes a feed directly from the American broadcaster NBC and as a keen TV observer it was interesting to see some of the NBC promos slip through when someone at Ten wasn’t paying attention (more on that later).

I’m not going to pretend for a minute that I know anything about this game because I don’t, but this is a great thing for the future of Australian free to air television that some options are available in this time of multi-channelling. It is fair to say that Ten’s effort towards its HD channel has been far superior to what the other networks have been dishing up.
During today’s telecast how is this for a half time show all the news on the Republican convention, take that sports fans! Additionally if NFL isn’t your cup of tea Ten HD offers the NASCAR’s also and for Formula 1 and Moto GP fan’s you can watch those telecasts usually about one to two hours before they air on the main channel.
Below is one of the promos from NBC, this is from a programme called Chuck which the Nine Network has the right’s to in Australia but has yet to show it.

That is cool that the US ads slipped through.
Do you have any video of them?
Thanks.
