All New Daytime Television: The Ellen DeGeneres Show Returns…
Continuing with the Nine Network’s new daytime line-up of shows following The View at Midday will be The Ellen DeGeneres show which has already been on Nine once before replacing Dr Phil when they lost the right’s to Network Ten.
However regional viewers haven’t been without Ellen with the show screening on WIN at 9am in place of Morning’s with Kerri-Anne with that programme later screening at Midday. However this has now changed with Kerri-Anne returning to 9am, Ellen is on Midday and Susie will screen at 1pm for WIN viewers and Midday for Nine Perth and Adelaide viwers wanting to catch Susie (catch all that?).
Today’s show was celebrating Ellen’s 50th birthday, an old episode and not in widescreen as can be seen with images included. But don’t dispar viewers with widescreen televisions as the new season of Ellen starts in the United States today which will be filmed in high definition and will be seen from tomorrow. Hopefully this will mean that viewers will be able to get the show in high definition on Channel 90 (Nine HD) as well as widescreen.
This new daytime line-up from Nine comes off the back of CEO of the Nine Network David Gyngell revealing that this new line-up will be more friendly to advertisers as it gives the network some consistency, where as movies do not offer this. Nine will be trying to claim back the mantle of afternoon television leader with this title being held by Network Ten with its line-up of Dr Phil, Oprah and Ready Steady Cook.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show can be seen on the Nine Network at 1pm weekdays except on WIN where it screens at the new time of Midday. Susie will now be on at 1pm for WIN viewers and at Midday for Channel Nine Adelaide and Perth viewers.
