Are You Serious? A Second Series Of Mark Loves Sharon…

feature photo

2008 will be remembered for producing a substantial amount of horrible or failed shows, just to name a few Monster House (Nine), Taken Out (Ten), The Rich List (Seven), but the one show to top the list of utter crapness and a show that Network Ten should be ashamed of would be Mark loves Sharon.

Jason Gann who plays the unashamed sports star Mark Wary is currently over in Cannes at the international TV market called Mipcom trying to sell the series Mark Loves Sharon. What is even more hard to believe other than the fact any other country might contemplate wanting to buy this six part series is that Network ten has announced that it will be producing season two, upping its season one order of six episodes to twelve.

Meanwhile the writing for the second series of the SBS comedy Wilfred (Jason Gann as Wilfred) is well underway, which unlike Mark Loves Sharon is a classic and wonderfully well thought out concept.

  1. Ten’s ideas cupboard must be VERY bare if this scores a second series…! Does this mean Kenny’s World is due for a renewal too? Meanwhile, good shows like Rush are left to struggle in timeslots they can’t possibly win and will probably not be renewed.

And actually The Rich List came out in 2007, and for what it’s worth, IMO I didn’t think it was that bad. Clearly it’s not Mastermind, but it’s a bit of casual fun TV.

  2. I agree with you about The Rich List, although it did fail in its timeslot this year. But it has been promised it will return later in the year.

  3. Good news. Liked it, though it did look a little underwritten and cheaply made. It was funniest when the character Jerry was around.

  4. Dumb show.
