For The Last Time: Hello I’m Anna Coren…
Well no I’m not really Anna although I’m sure I could give it a crack if I felt like it, but on a more serious note tonight was the last time Anna Coren hosted the Seven Network’s current affairs programme Today Tonight after being at the helm for two years.
Coren started to present Today Tonight back in January 2007 taking over from Naomi Robson, and just like Robson she will be remembered by a lot of people as being a target in the ABC’s satire programme The Chaser’s War On Everything especially in the segment What Have We Learned In Current Affairs This Week?, and of course the Anna Coren Segue of the Week.
In her closing statement she said, “As some of you may know this is my last programme with Today Tonight, I’m heading overseas and the lovely and talented Matt White will be taking over this chair. So I would like to take this opportunity in thanking you all for allowing me into your home every night and for all your support, its been an honour and a privilege. I’d also like to thank Channel Seven and the team at Today Tonight for the opportunity, hopefully our paths will cross again in the future. Until then, thanks so much for your company, I’m Anna Coren, have a great weekend, buy for now.”
Coren now departs Australia and heads off to Hong Kong where she will start her new role presenting with the Hong Kong bureau of CNN, and she will not be the first to do so with former Nightline presenter for the Nine Network Hugh Riminton also having gone down the same path.

I don’t get why she said goodbye twice…
