Seven News: Keeping Their Eye On Your Money…

Lately Seven has been capitalising on the fact it is now Australia’s number one free-to-air news service presenting another Seven News special on the financial crisis and how it is going to affect us all. Once again it was hosted by Sunrise host and financial expert David Koch from the Seven News desk in Sydney.

Some of the main topics to be covered were the stock market and the recent losses it has faced not just here in Australia but everywhere else in the world as well, Koch was joined by CNN London correspondent Richard Quest to talk about how this crisis started, and what was being done or rather what wasn’t being done to correct this mess.

Prime Minster Kevin Rudd also joined the show in a pre recorded speech outlining the government’s new policy of securing the savings of all Australian’s for the next three years. Rudd would late on appear on 60 Minutes with an interview with Liam Bartlett on the same matter.

Other experts such as CommSec’s Craig James and special reports from Chris Reason and Mark Riley were looked at throughout the 30 minute programme which wouldn’t be too bad a programme to be developed as a weekly series to cement the Seven News brand out in the community.

Dannyy, I get what you’re talking about but can you explain more about the idea?

Well I’ve always been in strong support for more financial infomation presented in News bulletins, so if this was not to happen a possible once a week show such as this one could be nice especially for Seven who want and actually is the market leader in News at the moment. It will be launching its new “Sunday Night” programme to compete with 60 Minutes which boots the quality factor (thats if it’s not full of fluff stories) so an addition money/financy programme could complete the offerings nicely.
However Lateline Business will always be superior.
