FLASHBACK: 7HD demonstration loop…

Just about two years ago What’s On The Tube had a look at the Seven High Definition Loop which was broadcast all day long on what we now call 7HD. From 11am every morning till 4:30pm digital channel 70 would show a loop which was supposed to be in high definition in order for television retailers such as Harvey Norman and JB HI FI to demonstrate the benefits of high definition televisions.

Back when high definition broadcasts started the Nine Network would also run a simular loop showcasing images in high definition, lucky for us all now that this is no longer the case. Regional viewers are not as lucky in this area as Southern Cross Ten is still running a loop on its high definition channel which will hopefully be replaced by the new ONE HD starting March 26.

This particular demonstration loop from Seven started to air from 2004 and continued right up until the surprise launch of 7HD as a breakaway channel. Sydney is the focal point at the beginning exploring the harbour flying over the main landmarks of the city including the Opera House and Harbour Bridge as well as some of the activities people undertake on the harbour itself.

Looking back at the original post on the demonstration loop the major question people wanted to know the answer to was what music was being played in the background and by whom, the answer to that can be found below as well as the video of the loop if you have never seen it before. The quality is not too crash hot; the reasoning for this is that 25MB is the maximum file size that can be uploaded, so the video is highly compressed.

    Hi Danny,

I was wondering if i would be able to download this demonstartion anywhere in High Definintion or get a copy of it somehow?

  2. Danny says:

Not that I know of, I would doubt anyone would have it in ‘high definition’ as it has been off the air for a number of years. If I can find my original video I’ll try to post a link so you can download it and leave a comment here if I can. But I have so many videos it could take a while to find.

  3. Joshua says:

    Thanks Danny.
