About Us…

THE TUBE [formally What's On The Tube] has been about all things Australian television for nearly four years now, starting out as a small blog on August 10, 2006 it has since grown to become one of Australia’s most popular blogs. On January 2009 THE TUBE was ranked as the 204th most popular blog in Australia and is continuing to grow every year along with the expanding digital television industry in Australia.

Here at THE TUBE we offer some popular resources from our Audience and Contestant Info page which is constantly updated, and our most popular resource, the THE TUBE Printable TV Guide. Our Guide is currently not being produced anymore but was available to download in PDF format displaying all of the digital free-to-air channels.

Contact Us…

If you wish to contact us here at THE TUBE you can use the below contact form which will send an email directly to us, or if you prefer a more informal approach we are always on our Twitter account @THETUBEtv. Please read the Frequently Asked Questions section first before submitting a message on the contact form.

Frequently Asked Questions…

Here at THE TUBE we get a lot of emails asking questions that can easily be answered on the site already, or ones we simply cannot answer because we have no affiliation with the networks (eg we are not the 60 Minutes mail bag). So before submitting an email via our contact form, please read the below FAQs, if none of these relate to your question please feel free to contact us below.

How can I be in the audience of a show?
You can find all of the up to date information on being in the audience of any TV show on our Audience & Contestant page which also contains information about being a contestant. Please note we are not affiliated with any of the television networks and will ignore any messages asking for audience tickets or to be a contestant on a show. These questions should be directed to the relevant addresses and contact forms provided on our audience page.

Will the Printable TV Guide return?
At this stage, no. As popular as our Printable TV Guide has become, unfortunately it will not return at this time. As you can imagine it takes a considerable amount of time having to type out the listings for each channel and with only one person responsible for this website, their just isn’t enough time. We recommend using the TV Guide on Yahoo!7 (http://au.tv.yahoo.com/tv-guide/) which includes a feature to be able to print the listings.

Will the videos be iPhone/iPad compatible?
At the present time all videos on THE TUBE are played using flash which is not compatible on Apple devices. We are currently working on a solution that will work best with the website so that iPhone and iPad users will be able to watch video content we post. At this time we haven’t found a solution that will fit into the design of the website and provide a better user experience.

Why not just post the videos on You Tube?
Using You Tube would solve this problem, however in the past we have used You Tube for our videos and once someone thinks we have breached copyright by posting an item the account can be deleted losing all video content. This is why we have for a while now hosted videos directly here on the website so we maintain complete control.

What is your policy on submitting comments?
We welcome all comments and encourage everyone to comment as much as possible on the topics we cover on THE TUBE. If you are commenting for the first time your comment will be hidden until it has been approved, after the first comment is approved any subsequent comments made on the website will be posted instantly. We also reserve the right to not accept or edit any comments that may reveal personal information (please don’t add your phone number or address) or any comment that might be offensive. Also another feature if you are following us on Twitter (@THETUBEtv) when a new blog post is posted you can reply to that tweet and your reply from Twitter will be posted automatically in the comments section on the website.
