About

What’s On The Tube was formed on August 10 2006 and aims to discuss what is happening on Australian Television, and to put everything into layman’s terms so it is hopefully easy to understand. What’s On The Tube tries to focus on Australian programs, but has recently started to additionally focus on international programs to try and cater to everyone’s interests.

Some of the features of the site are the “Audience & Contestant Information” page, where you can find information as the name says about being in the audience of your favourite show as well as being a contestant. Also there is the Australian Television Archive, which will be updated as often as possible as a reference of how television has changed over the years.

What’s On The Tube will also occasionally try to review a show by attending a recording and being in the audience, some past examples include, Bert’s Family Feud, 1 vs 100, The Rich List, Surprise Surprise Gotcha, Rove, Monster House and Million Dollar Wheel of Fortune.

Over the nearly 2 years in operation the site has grown enormously and has been linked to by some well known and high profile sites, Sunrise on the Yahoo7 web site and also recently The Wall Street Journal.

What’s On The Tube is administered by Daniel who is a 21 year old Monash University student undertaking the Bachelor of Business and Commerce majoring in Management and Human Resources, but also has a key interest in Journalism and Australian Television and has recently completed a Feature Writing elective. Daniel also apparently likes to talk about himself in the third person.

Daniel also has a Diploma in Business Management and a Certificate IV in Business Managament and completed his Victorian Certificate of Education in 2004.

Daniel is a keen Collingwood supporter and member, a team in the Australian Football League, and also works casually as a bar-person at various special events around Melbourne, so has seen how the television network’s cover big events.

During the summer season, or as we like to say at What’s On The Tube, ‘the non-ratings season’, Daniel turns his attention to being a beach bum and has found enormous success in this skill.

When Daniel is online you can find him looking and sometimes contributing to discussions at Media Spy or you can contact him by e-mail.
