ACA’s Ben Fordham to be charged by police…

Ben Fordham from the Nine Network’s A Current affair along with a producer are expected to be formally charged tomorrow (February 26) over a hidden camera investigation for the current affairs programme. In the story Fordham posed as an accomplice to an alleged hitman and was approached by a Sydney man to carry out a job to kill a man.

The story under scrutiny aired on ACA last year with Fordham speaking to Tracy Grimshaw on tonight’s edition saying that it is expected that himself and producer Andrew Byrne will be charged. Fordham said, “The DPP (Department of Public Prosecutions) has recommended charges and police have arranged to come to Channel Nine tomorrow to lay them. They relate to an alleged breach of the Listening Devices Act and allegedly concealing a serious indictable offence. Both of these charges carry maximum penalties of two years jail apiece, so to say that Andrew Byrne and I are worried is an understatement.”

Fordham also added he was shocked by the impending charges and that he and Byrne will defend the charges once they are laid.

ACA is the most stupid show on TV. Worse the Today Tonight. On a different subject does anyone know if Ian Ross is actually presenting Seven News Sunday-Wednesday

  2. I agree, ACA is the most stupid show on TV … as well as totally inaccurate, deceptive and slanderous. Ben Fordham has sought to ruin many good Australians over the years with lies and deception. I don’t wish anyone to go to prison, I do hope though that justice is done to Fordham for the evil he has done to many people.

Maybe if the ACA reporters actually studied journalism and knew the laws, they wouldn’t have this problem

I can’t think of any good Australians that Ben Fordham has exposed ever. There is no point blaming Ben Fordham or any other investigative reporter for any results or situation that anyone gets themselves in. Its a fact of life that our world is full of conmen and crooks and these shows are so popular because they keep them off the streets and educate the public on how unscrupulous some people are. I think evil is when you deliberately set out to benefit yourself knowing that you are harming others or doing something against their wishes. All Fordham was doing was exposing some wrong doing in society but in the process sometimes he probably steps on others toes…that is not evil.
