Foxtel comes to the iPhone…
Today Telstra launched the missing link in its service to the company’s iPhone users, which is the ability to watch streaming television from Foxtel on the Apple device. Next G users can access the service from the “BigPond Mobile for iPhone” menu which has been made a bookmark in the Safari browser.
From this menu it is as easy as selecting Mobile Foxtel where you are given the choice of viewing 30 channels from the pay TV provider. To use the service will not affect mobile data allowance (free to browse) however it will cost to use the service.
Freddie Jansen Van Nieuwenhuizen who is the Director of Telstra Product Management said, “The iPhone is a logical first choice for delivering an improved Mobile TV experience. Generally, iPhone users are already accustomed to consuming a vast array of media on their devices. Mobile FOXTEL provides an exciting opportunity for these customers to enjoy top quality programming while on the go.”
“The power and reach of Telstra’s Next G™ network means you can watch your favourite channels, like FOX 8, FOX Sports News TV, Fashion TV or MTV in more places. Combine this with the video-on-demand services available on BigPond TV, as well as V8 Supercars and horseracing video streaming from BigPond Sports, and you have a range of content to suit everyone’s tastes. Telstra iPhone customers can now receive the best that mobile TV has to offer,” he added.
It will cost Telstra users $4 for a day pass or you can pay a monthly subscription of $18 for access to all channels or $12 for a selection of channels. Mobile Foxtel also has the option of buying a 6 month pass at $89 or a three month pass at $49.

Anyone tired this out? Is it full length shows, or just clips? It would be nice if it were just rebroadcadsting the channels as is.
It is full length shows, you can even look up a TV guide to see what will be coming up on the channel. The free browse stuff are just video clips of what you can expect on the channel.
