Nine’s identity crisis continues as it launches new on air presentation, “Welcome Home”…
Tonight at 6pm the Nine Network including its regional affiliates launched a new on air look moving away from the “Choose Nine” slogan to the new slogan of “Welcome Home”. Since 2006 it is easy to loose count of the number of times the Nine Network has re-launched, changed its logo, its news and other promotions.
2006 Logo —> 2007 Logo —> 2008 Logo —> 2009 Logo —> Now new 2009/2010 Logo…
Although not an impressive on air package, this one certainly is better than the previous which was pretty dated after just one week on air. These new graphics are a reminder of the ‘90s on air presentation from Nine and also when the network had themed colour days of the week.
The launch promo which aired at 6pm was a local specific promotion featuring news and current affairs personalities known to that city as well as a fly over of iconic buildings in that city. In Melbourne it was a fly over of the Yarra River in front Crown Casino.

The below station Ident has a very familiar tune to it, not only does it look simular to ones shown in the ‘90s but if you listen closely the “Still The One” music has been given a modern make-over.

Below are a whole host of videos and images from the new presentation from Nine with this post continually updating throughout the evening when new items come to light. As for the slogan “Welcome Home”, who knows, unless Nine has anticipated that all the viewers that abandoned the network for Seven are coming back soon…

Wow, the first ident was pretty much just a poorly made (in comparison) rip off of CBS's new “Fall” ident (See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZxNMWqjet4&feat... ) It looks as if al they did was change the shows, slogan, logo, and make it blue…
Also, another thing noticed, they are now watermarking Promotions. The only other place i have seen that is on CBS Promos i have seen on Youtube, Hmmm…. Interesting….
Just my 2 cents!
Why Nine has revamped the network is why they're losing the whole network to Seven
I love it! They really needed this to give a boost to the station, a new identity and a boost to its staff – to reaffirm its vision, its philosophy, its direction – that is now right back on the path to regaining Australian television supremacy and that it is the best network in our hearts – “welcome home” nudges that it has failed us in these years, but it is back on the ball to be our home of television and in the direction of beating 7 and becoming, yet again, the best for news, current affairs, sport, comedy, entertainment and drama. All the best Nine! All you need to do now is put the sports reports in the sports bulletin, not in the news segment!

I agree with you jt93. This is a brilliant relaunch. I do however dislike the end boards but other then that well done Nine. The music and overall graphics a superb and look brilliant. Welcome Home, suggests Nine are apologising to its audience for its past years performance while at the same time, displaying a sense of direction and commitment to bringing a fresh slate of programming, and other television events to our screens, while making its audience feel welcome. Plus this relaunch screams pride if you ask me. That members of stuff at Nine itself, are proud to be working once again at this tremendous network.
Welcome Home Channel Nine. The Number 1 position is now a step closer.

I seem to remember another station that uses “bringing it home” as their tagline….
