One HD goes pro with The Pro Shop…
With the AFL season coming to an end One HD will turn its focus to golf and from late October with the 24 hour sports channel launching a new programme to be hosted by Andrew Maher called The Pro Shop. The weekly show is a partnership between One HD and the PGA of Australia, the show will air every Tuesday night right through till the conclusion of the 2010 Masters from Augusta National.
The PGA of Australia has been looking for a way to actively promote the sport of golf in Australia with the decline of television audiences but faces a revival due to Tiger Woods coming to Australia in November for the Australian Masters (airing on the Nine Network).
As well as full previews and reviews of all the major domestic Tournaments the show will analyse and test the latest equipment, visit and review a host of golf courses and golf travel destinations, talk to our leading professionals both on and off the course, meet celebrities who share a passion for golf as well as provide useful tips, hints and drills to improve your game.
Network Ten General Manager of Sport David White said, “Along with our extensive live sport offerings we believe that sports fans want to learn about different sports and how to incorporate them into their lives. This show will have something for the casual golfer right through to the dedicated serious golfer.”
Max Garske who is the CEO of the PGA of Australia said, “We are very excited about the launch of ‘The Pro Shop’ which in conjunction with the increased tournament coverage Network Ten will deliver this summer will ensure that golf lovers at all levels will be catered for. We look forward to working together in our desire to serve the golf fans what they have asked for –the highest level of golf coverage ever.”

Thanks for puting a golf show on prime time free-to-air TV. Enjoyed the show but a bit too much talk and not enough golf, e.g. tips, products, new rules etc..
looks like the pro shop hasnt read your comment ron still to much talk.Yawn Yawn lets hope for the future.
After watching and listening to the unprofessional Masters commentary on the Nine Network, it is refreshing to watch and listen to a couple of pros like yourselves. Also your program is both informing and interesting to watch. Good luck and I hope the program continues. Merry Christmas to all at the Pro-Shop.
