Seven News takes a giant leap backwards with new graphics

Last night we showed the new graphics introduced by Seven News in the Sydney, Brisbane and Perth markets, the network failed to introduce them in the Melbourne and Adelaide markets as well as introducing them in the Morning and Afternoon editions of the news bulletin.
Today Seven have started to use its new look on the national bulletins in the morning and afternoon at 4:30pm. Overall it is a massive step backwards with Australia’s number one news service being outshone over on rival network Nine with its flash new sets. Graphics wise Nine’s are not that fantastic, but they sure beat this new effort from Seven, but you can judge for yourself…

Seven are still using the old weather graphics and going by that cap the old Seven Morning News OTS graphic! Only a half refresh.
Yeah… my god it is shocking…
I’m feeling pretty good about myself today, as around 2 weeks before this layout debuted, I posted a similar concept onto the internet (click name). I’m on the “Coincidence/I’m not that good” side for now, but what does anyone else think? Are they similar enough to be suss?
Having said that, it should come as no surprise to the viewers that I find this layout very aesthetically pleasing!
