The Pro Shop on One HD…
A new show hosted by AFL commentator and sports guru Andrew Maher, The Pro Shop will air every Tuesday night at 8.30pm with the first season to extend through to the conclusion of 2010’s first Major Championship, the 2010 Masters from Augusta National.
Tonight’s inaugural episode will include a wrap of the week that was in golf around the globe with highlights from the major events along with a look ahead to what is coming up and a special “ONE Moment in Golf” segment.
Episode 1 is being filmed at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney, NSW and fans will get the chance to preview the course and learn more about the club from those who know it best.
Host Andrew Maher will chat to Australian golfer Peter O’Malley who has won seven career professional tournaments and has golfed in three of the major American PGA majors. He also won three events as an amateur and has ranked as high as 10th on the European Tour, becoming one of the longest serving and most respected members of that organisation.
The PGA of Australia has been looking for a way to actively promote the sport of golf in Australia with the decline of television audiences but faces a revival due to Tiger Woods coming to Australia in November for the Australian Masters (airing on the Nine Network).
As well as full previews and reviews of all the major domestic Tournaments the show will analyse and test the latest equipment, visit and review a host of golf courses and golf travel destinations, talk to our leading professionals both on and off the course, meet celebrities who share a passion for golf as well as provide useful tips, hints and drills to improve your game.
