Winter comes to the MCG for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games
Continuing on with our look at promos advertising 2010 programming on our television network’s, some more Winter Olympic Games promos have been airing on Nine with one featuring the Cricket commentary team.
The promo featuring Richie Benaud, Tony Greig, Michael Slater, Mark Taylor, Ian Chapel and Bill Lawry is reminiscent of a ‘The 12th Man’ sketch advertising the Winter Olympics. Tony Greig has a flash back to the ‘80s/’90s era when he would put his keys in the pitch, although it doesn’t really work with ice.

[...] I also have to agree with Throng’s post about Channel Nine being the ‘Home Of Over-Promotion’ (eg. the wedging of promotions between promotions between fireworks on New Year’s Eve was especially tiresome). Most ad breaks and even main programmes have been littered with Games-related idents, pull-throughs and full length commercials, to try and kickstart Nine’s ratings year.
